This project aimed to blend Italian craftsmanship with sustainability, focusing on redesigning packaging for Bonaveri. We reviewed processes, materials, and costs, incorporating prototyping, environmental analysis, and user experience improvements. Collaborative efforts ensured the eco-friendly, practical packaging aligned with Bonaveri's standards, highlighting a comprehensive, stakeholder-engaged approach to innovation and design.
We needed to maintain packaging costs below current low levels, especially considering the mannequins' most fragile parts—the arms and hands—which are pre-attached. Another challenge was improving the ergonomics for workers filling the packaging, previously an uncomfortable task due to the use of polystyrene chips. This required a complete redesign of the packaging to enhance sustainability, practicality, and adherence to Bonaveri's luxury image.
By creating a bespoke box specifically for the arms, and rethinking the box's internal layout, we streamlined the process, reducing costs and waste. This new eco-friendly packaging is easier to handle and aligns with Bonaveri's values, offering an organized presentation and improved aesthetics.
The new sustainable and eco-friendly packaging we designed at Bonaveri was adopted by the company and received recognition. It was awarded a prize by Conai for its outstanding concept, excelling both technically and in design.
